Local Mortgage Brokers

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

My experience with Florida mortgage brokers has been the same as with many other consumers. Mortgages offer some people the opportunity to live the American Dream, but we all would like to avoid them if possible. There will never be a day mortgages aren’t necessary, which is good because brokers seem to be abundant. As consumers, all we can do is hope the mortgage rates stay low and companies will stay willing to finance the common person via mortgage.

Clear Channel Rolls Over

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

How many times have we heard this one? Clear Channel radio is always in the news because they host shock jock radio shows, and wonder why it gets so shocking when these guys do what they do. As always, Clear Channel appeased Britney Spears this time by removing unflattering billboards of her around the Tampa, Florida area advertising the “MJ Morning Show” after lawsuits were threatened. In one way, I’m angry and not surprised by Clear Channel and their eternal quest to avoid controversy, but am glad Britney won’t get the chance to scrape any money out of it.

Ton of Marijuana Goes Up in Smoke

Wednesday, June 27th, 2007

A warehouse in Texas containing more than a ton of marijuana recently caught on fire - leading investigators to investigate the mysterious blaze. Over a thousand gallons of water and thirty-five men were used to put out the massive fire, that burned up enough of the marijuana to cause the firefighters to fail a drug test, despite wearing smoke protection. Talk about one memorable fire to put out… I wouldn’t be surprised if the McDonald’s was packed with these guys afterwards, buying insane amounts of dollar menu items!

Pharmacist Wins $2 Million from Wal-Mart

Tuesday, June 26th, 2007

A female pharmacist who worked for Wal-Mart recently won a $2 million dollar law suit after she was fired for asking to be paid as much as her male counterparts. This comes as yet another blow to Wal-Mart, which has suffered many accusations and lawsuits over the past few years alleging everything from unfair pay to unsafe working conditions. It’s also hard to believe that this day in age a woman can still be making less than a man for the very same work performed. Maybe this lawsuit will let everyone know, once and for all, that discrimination based solely upon race or sex is a thing of the past and is no longer acceptable in today’s world.

Vent Free Heaters

Monday, June 25th, 2007

Though there is nothing new about vent free heaters, the public should know a few things about these safe, efficient little machines. Vent free heaters of all kinds boast 99% fuel efficiency by taking advantage of advanced air/gas mixing chambers, and none of them have the hassle of a vent or chimney to get rid of exhaust. There are no worries about pollution, either, as a vent free heater is seven to ten times cleaner than a gas stove. Your typical vent free heater puts out 5 to 7 particles of carbon monoxide per hour while a gas stove can emit as many as 50. Also, vent free heaters are extremely easy to install. So if you are looking for a safe, energy-efficient heat source for your home, why not give vent free heaters a shot?

Record Drunkenness

Monday, June 25th, 2007

A Washington state woman from the Tacoma area has recently tied a dubious record - that is, having the highest blood alcohol concentration on file with the State of Washington. At a blazing .50 on the scales, witnesses accuse habitual drunk driver Rebecca G. Lingbloom of swerving all over the road in a written statement. In Washington, the average BAC of a drunk driver is .15, so Lingbloom was over three times that number. Toxicology experts believe this amount of alcohol would likely kill most people.

Traveling

Monday, June 25th, 2007

You’ll have to excuse the past few days of inactivity, I was out traveling! Every once in a while, I get a spontaneous desire to get out of town, if only for a few days. I love traveling all over the world, for it is very relaxing. There is nothing quite like leaving your problems behind you for a few days of rest and recuperation. Every once in a while, I stumble upon a new and exciting place, and last year Hawaii was it. As hard as it is to imagine, I hadn’t been to Hawaii until last year when business brought me there. When I arrived, I instantly fell in love. All the great things I had heard about this island state were true. It was then I knew I had to obtain Maui vacation rentals in the future, so everyone could enjoy what I did. In case you’re wondering, vacation rentals are a smart alternative to merely booking a hotel room.

Indiana Cop Killer Found Dead

Thursday, June 21st, 2007

A teenager in Indiana, aged 15, who killed one sheriff’s deputy and injured another was found dead on Monday. After a confrontation at his house, the young killer shot and killed one officer, Tyler Dumsdorf, and injured another, causing the residents of tiny Georgetown to be evacuated. Details are scant, but the police are confirming he was the suspect in the murder and residents can come home and feel safe once again. Saved a bunch of taxpayer money, if you ask me.

I Love PayPerPost!

Thursday, June 21st, 2007

My boyfriend has a blog, and the costs of hosting it are immense. It is hard to get his ideas out there, and it is no different for me! Maintaining a good blog is hard work, but it doesn’t exactly put food on the table. That is, unless you know about PayPerPost. I love this site, and I have seen just how much it does for him. Now he is able to pay for his hosting as well as make a few extra dollars for gas money. We now get to see the light of day after spending our hours researching our blog material on the internet because we have a few extra dollars to see movies and eat places, which are often ones we’ve reviewed. I am so happy to be alongside him, being able to make money blogging I just started, and have made over thirty dollars in the past few hours since my blog was approved. The sign-up was quick and pain free, and the opportunities are vast and optional. If you don’t like something, simply don’t do the review! I look forward to make lots of friends and plenty of spare cash at PayPerPost.
