Interesting Observation

Monday, July 30th, 2007

Here is an interesting observation I made earlier when reading the Roberts story. When he fell he was in his Maine summer home. You know who else is from Maine? The Bushes! It’s a bit scary how close they look, just check it out for yourself.

These guys could very well be cousins! If Kerry and Bush are cousins, I can definitely see this one. They both have that “you have no idea what I have in store for your country” smirk.

L.A. Riots Redux

Monday, July 30th, 2007

Just a few days ago I posted some art inspired by the L.A. Riots in 1991, and now it is making headlines once again. No, rioters haven’t taken to the streets of L.A…. The very photographer that videotaped the savage beating of truck driver Reginald Denny is now suing YouTube in a lawsuit that threatens to kill the video-sharing website. The man’s name is Bob Tur. Have you heard of him? Neither have I. It’s just a pathetic attempt to stay in the limelight by an individual whose sole accomplishment in life is having a camera nearby when a man was being beaten to death. Way to go, Tur. Some people are better off staying out of the headlines, and this pathetic guy is one of them.

Chief Justice Hospitalized

Monday, July 30th, 2007

Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr. was hospitalized this afternoon after falling in his Maine summer home. Apparently, the cause of the fall was from a seizure. It wasn’t the first thing the judge has suffered such a seizure. Initial tests show nothing to be overly concerned about for the Chief Justice. He should be ready whenever the Supreme Court convines again. Justice Roberts has been the Chief Justice since President Bush nominated him last year. He was confirmed by a wide margin and is considered a moderate conservative.

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

Police in Greer, South Carolina are busy at this hour trying to find a bandit who took a valuable worth over $4500. What was taken, you may ask? It was a giant 200 pound plastic muffin outside a Bloom grocery store, a subsidiary of Food Lion. It is unknown why anyone would want the huge blueberry muffin, but the assailants do face grand theft charges if caught.

Lawlessness in Art

Saturday, July 28th, 2007

Well, art isn’t the usual fare here, but here is a piece that defines what is ‘lawlessness’. Many of you may recognize the scene, it’s in L.A. in 1991, after the riots. Four white police officers were acquitted of the beating of Rodney King and riots over L.A. were the results for days. In this picture, truck driver Reginald Denny was senselessly beaten at a red light and laid to die as his assailant danced around him.
