Exercise Lawsuits

Tuesday, January 8th, 2008

After hearing about people suing fast food chains for hot coffee, I guess it should be no surprise to learn that one woman in Arkansas is suing over injuries sustained on a treadmill. You usually don’t think of danger when you think of treadmills, but the scenario played out on many a TV show apparently played out when the machine kicked into high gear and knocked the woman on the floor at a local gym. The video has yet to be released, but she is claiming, among injuries, anguish and grief. Give me a break!

Clients Protection

Friday, January 4th, 2008

Every once in a while, I will work with a client who would have been heavily benefited by having long term care insurance. They end up being a burden to their families for a long time as their health costs skyrocket. All in all, though, I would only recommend the insurance to people who anticipate needing long term care later in life. I would say anyone still ticking at the age of 70 should consider it if they can afford it.

Law Firm Black

Friday, January 4th, 2008

My law firm is fairly new, so it took a while for my partners and I to get in the black. We had to finance the building and hire the help, so it took a few high profile clients to get us into the black. Now we have to be more careful about our financial reporting, especially when it comes to be tax time. I think now that we’ve touched the black, there will be no looking back. Staying in profit is easy to do when you are taking 30% of people’s settlements.

Corvette Guys

Friday, January 4th, 2008

I have always had a fascination with old age Chevy Corvettes. I mean, they are all great automobiles that represent the auto industry in America very well. If the United States could have kept producing cars like these, we’d still be a major player in the auto producing world. Anyway, I wanted to restore this old Corvette shell I picked up from a friend for less than a grand. The engine still worked, but a lot of worked needed to be done. Luckily, I had a catalog from www.corvetteguys.com, so I was set when it comes to Chevy parts.

Bedroom Situation

Friday, January 4th, 2008

Being on the road all the time, I have had to sleep on many a mattress. Not every one of them is a supreme example of comfort. Personally, I prefer firm mattresses which are hard to find in lousy hotels. A lot of them are like sleeping on a giant pillow. You wake up tired and aching. It’s simply no good for my arthritis. Sometimes I would rather sleep on the floor than these dirty, uncomfortable mattresses. I wonder where my practice will take me next? Hopefully not the Motel 6.

Annoying Internet

Friday, January 4th, 2008

Does anybody remember the national do not call registry the government set up a few years ago? It really went a long way towards eliminating unwanted phone calls. I mean, I still get annoying phone calls, but the difference is definitely felt. I wish someone would do the same thing when it comes to the internet and popup ads. I am tired of going to a website and accidentally clicking on an annoying ad, delaying me. There should be a government run popup blocker to increase productivity.
