Navy Watch

Friday, March 21st, 2008

When May rolls around, I will have a month’s worth of vacation time and I am looking forward to it! I plan to go to Mexico to see a few cultural sites, as well as spend time on the other side of the Gulf fishing and snorkeling. They say not to drink the water in Mexico, but I assume swimming in it is alright. I just went to the department store to pick up a new Technomarine watch to wear on my wrist during the diving.

Dependability

Saturday, March 8th, 2008

In case you guys didn’t know, I write this blog about law from the comfort of my living room most of the time, on my laptop computer. I used to trust only desktop models because of the unreliability of wireless internet. Ever since I discovered the Linksys router, that has all changed. As long as COmcast keeps the signal on, Linksys is transmitting it flawlessly throughout my house.

Crib

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

One of my friends from high school is having a baby. Of course she set up a gift registry at a local retailer, so I went down there to see what is is she needs. One of the items she highlighted was an Emily crib. I am not well versed in baby supplies, so the brand name Emily really stood out to me. I took a look at the models featured, and I was impressed by the quality craftsmanship. There won’t be worrying about replacement with an Emily crib.

Digital Camera Concerns

Saturday, February 9th, 2008

Now that digital cameras are the most prevalent of cameras, it is opening a host of issues. Back in the day, picture content was limited for most people, unless they had access to an array of chemicals and a black room. There were just certain things you wouldn’t want the One Hour Photo shop to see. Now, those concerns are gone opening the flood gates of controversy.

Luxury Mirrors

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

My brother in law makes a living installing bathroom vanities in rich people’s homes in Naples, Florida. I guess it’s a decent living, but with the rich folks losing money they are unable to get lead crystal mirrors installed into their homes. I guess immigration reforms sending their slave laborers back to Mexico and having to actually pay people minimum wage has put a damper on their taste for luxury mirrors.

Caring for Elderly

Thursday, January 17th, 2008

Caring for elderly parents is the responsibility of many working adults in the United States. The only thing is, how are we supposed to balance their care and a working schedule? As a lawyer, it would be hard for me to look after my aging mother all day. I also do not trust a nursing home and that is against her wishes. That is why I got her a package of assisted living software so she can retain her independence. The software makes sure she has a pulse and calls the hospital if she does not. It keeps both and and me a sense of security without interfering with our independent lives.

Clients Protection

Friday, January 4th, 2008

Every once in a while, I will work with a client who would have been heavily benefited by having long term care insurance. They end up being a burden to their families for a long time as their health costs skyrocket. All in all, though, I would only recommend the insurance to people who anticipate needing long term care later in life. I would say anyone still ticking at the age of 70 should consider it if they can afford it.

Watch Time

Monday, December 10th, 2007

Sometimes, personal injury litigation can take a long time, and it can get into the realm of mundane. When I am the head attorney on the case, I have to stay focused and will always devote my personal attention to it. However, when I am merely helping out or pushing papers around the court room, the proceedings are usually long and arduous. I keep having to look down at my Hublot watch to check the time and hope for an upcoming recess.

New Business

Friday, November 30th, 2007

My son in law recently took out a loan for starting his own business. There was an abandoned automotive building that was just weeks away from demolition when he agreed to buy it. For the past few months, he has been renovating the place to become a thriving body repair shop. The only thing he needs to do now is find some hard workers who will work for next to nothing while he rakes in the cash, and of course, some body shop supplies.

Grocery Store

Saturday, October 20th, 2007

It’s funny who you will run into on a routine trip to the supermarket. I was up at the store getting some orange juice, as I needed the refreshing vitamin C and sugary tartness to get me through my day. I ran into none other than Jane Iredale. You might be asking who Jane is. Well, I don’t really know. She seemed to know me. I guess these kind of exchanges are just a natural part of being a hotshot lawyer.
