Exercise Time

Saturday, April 12th, 2008

I am still looking for some new fitness equipment. I have let my gym membership lapse. Sure, I have a bunch of those gimmicky products you see on TV all the time.I bet I have about three ab rollers, one of those Gazelles, and even those thigh crunchers that were popular in the nineties. Any help anyone has to offer would be much appreciated! I am thinking about the total gym.

Bank Accounts

Saturday, April 12th, 2008

Back when I was in high school, I opened my very first bank account. It was just a checking account complete with a $500 spending limit credit card. I started getting more and more money from my grocery store job and needed a dependable place to put it. I have the same basic problems these days, just on a larger scale. I have discovered that one should keep as much money as possible in savings account in order to reap the interest benefits.

Kitchen Improvements

Friday, March 21st, 2008

Before I go on that trip to Mexico I was telling you guys about, I thought I’d make some improvements around the house. Laborers and parts manufacturers are giving out their best deals in years just to be able to do business. That’s why I thought it’d be a good time to get new kitchen faucets installed. That way, I can have them gleaming in the window so intruders will come in and activate my home monitoring. Then, I can watch them go to jail! I love having money in the down economy.

Digital Signs

Friday, March 21st, 2008

When I first got into the law business around 20 years ago, the marketing of our firm was very limited. There was the phone book and there was billboards. Neither one was particularly effective and each accounted for about 10% of our leads. Nowadays, everything s digital and much more efficient. Not only is digital signage cheaper, it’s also more reliable and more far-reaching.

Scranton

Saturday, March 8th, 2008

One of my beloved clients recently moved to the Scranton area. I had been her only lawyer since 1998, so we have had a lot of time to discuss many things. She is a woman of culture and class with a supreme sense of morality. I sure will miss her, as she was one of my nicest clients, the kind who sends a gift basket every Christmas. I recommended a good Scranton personal injury lawyer to her and wished her good luck.

Travel Time

Saturday, February 9th, 2008

Whenever I travel to a case, usually by plane, I have a whole routine set up. I am one of those people that is uncomfortable with travel. I am not really afraid of airplanes, but the stress of travel is what gets to me. Having to go through security checkpoints, waiting forever at airports, the whole situation is just a drag. Now I make a solid plan, get my travel gear and hit the road.

Stair Lift Master

Thursday, January 17th, 2008

Obviously, being in the law profession isn’t one where you get enough exercise. Sometimes, I try to take the stairs and walk whenever I can, but I simply do not get enough exercise. I also have a bad habit of eating out, which usually entails a greasy, unhealthy meal. I don’t want to really change my eating habits, as I just love pizza and Chinese food too much! That is why I have a tiny piece of exercise equipment tucked under my desk. When I am sitting by the phone waiting for an important call, I hop on the stair lifts and get a good work out.

Law Firm Black

Friday, January 4th, 2008

My law firm is fairly new, so it took a while for my partners and I to get in the black. We had to finance the building and hire the help, so it took a few high profile clients to get us into the black. Now we have to be more careful about our financial reporting, especially when it comes to be tax time. I think now that we’ve touched the black, there will be no looking back. Staying in profit is easy to do when you are taking 30% of people’s settlements.

Uncle Jimmy

Thursday, December 20th, 2007

My Uncle Jimmy is also in the field of law. In Missouri, he is known as James K. Bingman, attorney at law. He has an unusual practice that capitalizes on the many highways going through Missouri by trucks. He has founded a firm filled with truck accident lawyers to represent truck drivers who are hurt and sustain damage in crashes. Many people think truck drivers are immune to getting hurt in their big rigs, but this is not the case. He has done surprisingly well with his venture, and it sure is unique in the field of law.

Partners in Pens

Friday, December 7th, 2007

You can never really underestimate the power of marketing. My firm was ranked #4 in our area as far as personal injury lawyers are concerned. The other firms have a larger budget to flood the morning airwaves with advertisements, but we did not have that option. We have a TV spot, but it’s reach and frequency is limited by budget. I had the idea of giving away personalized pens in a cup in the lobby. These pens provide a phone number, and if just one person takes their case too us because of the pen, they will have paid for themselves over and over.
