J. John Goldstein

Friday, November 30th, 2007

My grandmother recently started up some litigation against a landscaping company whose company car totaled hers and caused her to sustain injuries. Both her and the driver had the same insurance, so naturally the company is going to try to pay as little as possible. I told her of a good lawyer to go to, but it appears that man only deals with real estate cases now, but he referred her to his partner who still practices in personal injury litigation.

Back to Shape

This Christmas, I hope I get a brand new treadmill. I have wanted to get into walking for a while, but before I go outside in the blazing sun, I wanted to improve my conditioning in the privacy of my own home. Years of drinking sodas out of vending machines and eating chips as a quick meal have taken their toll on my body, so now it’s time to take control again.

Lawyer Commercial

Friday, September 21st, 2007

I was looking around YouTube for relevant law material to share with the readers when I saw this great advertisement for a Texas personal injury lawyer. I guess marketing is supreme and the dignity of law is no longer. You’ll agree after you see this ad:

Referee

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

There is this real NFL referee I know in town who is also a lawyer. On several occasions, he has asked me if I wanted to go to a game he was officiating. While I have never found the time lately, I will still take him up on his offer one day. I’d have to pay my own way, but if he wants to get me some expensive Superbowl tickets, I’m sure I’d manage the travel expenses!

Outraged Lawyer Gets 12 Years

Sunday, September 2nd, 2007

A lawyer in Bridgeport, Connecticut was given 12 years for stabbing his neighbor. Police arrested Jonathan Edington as he washed his neighbor’s blood from his hands. The first degree manslaughter charge came after the lawyer’s wife told him she thought neighbor Barry James was molesting their daughter. In a fit of rage he stabbed the man to death. Barry James never molested the daughter. The judge commented that the case was “Shakespearean” and I cannot disagree.

Gonzalez Calls It Quits

Monday, August 27th, 2007

As you all have probably heard, Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez resigned from his office after being embattled for months. The controversy started when opponents accused Gonzalez of having no experience in the Department of Justice. Then, there was a controversy around the firing of District Attorneys who didn’t adhere to George W. Bush. Ever since then, he has had no confidence from peers. The proposed replacement is said to be announced soon.

Law Firms in Florida

Sunday, August 19th, 2007

Whenever someone in the field of law goes on typical Orlando vacations, we notice something other than the theme parks and tourist attractions. Central Florida, especially Orlando, is notorious for having a bunch of personal injury attorneys. I don’t know if the population down there is more susceptible to injuring themselves or what. I guess they did have quite a time voting for the right candidate in 2000. If not for them the world would be different!

Study in Lawyering

Sunday, August 19th, 2007

No matter what you think about the guilt of OJ Simpson, you must admit the genius of the late Johnny Cochran. He was the best in the business. When you look at these closing arguments, it’s no wonder he got the desired verdict.
